Birthday moon
What moon were you born under?
Your birthday moon is the lunar phase on your actual birth date, including the year. Enter that date to see the phase, a noon-UTC moon-sign estimate, and the matching meaning pages. We do not generate 365 date URLs — look it up once and read the phase essay.
Phase first, then the month
The eight phase pages carry the spiritual meaning. Birth-month pages describe the seasonal container — winter nights, long June evenings — not a substitute phase. If you only know the month, start there, then come back with the year.
How the estimate works
Phase uses the same synodic clock as tonight’s moon page (a 29.53-day cycle from a reference new moon). Moon sign uses astronomy-engine’s geocentric ecliptic longitude at noon UTC. That is honest enough for “what did the sky look like,” not a professional natal chart.
Make it personal
This page is the public meaning. Your chart changes how it lands.
The useful next step is the archetype quiz — that is the part an AI overview cannot invent for your rising sign, moon, and houses.

Frequently asked questions
Why do you need the year?
The Moon’s phase repeats about every 29.5 days. Month and day without a year can match several different phases across a lifetime. We will not invent one.
Is this my natal moon sign?
The phase uses the same synodic estimate as the rest of this site. The sign is computed at 12:00 UTC on that date. Exact natal moon still needs birth time and city.
Is this the same as /birthday-moon?
The older birthday moon page stays live. This calculator is the year-required tool that links into the phase and moon-in-sign meaning cluster.
